The 2007 5K was a spectacular success. We had great weather and a terrific turnout. 189 people registered and 164 finished the race. We had runners from all over Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley, plus people as far away as San Francisco (CA), Hartland (WI), Charlottesville (VA) and Brooklyn (NY). Congratulations to all runners! The top three finishers of the entire race and in each age category are here. The results for all finishers are here.
We owe many thanks to a lot of people, local businesses, neighboring property owners and organizations who all pitched in to help make this second annual 5K on the Banks a success. First, a hearty thanks to Mike Clavelli of Runners' Advocate for doing the timing, Mike McGettigan of Trophy Bikes and John Randolph and Rob Stuart for their photos. the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia for loaning tents, water jugs and A-frames and numerous other items, PhillyCarShare for the cool truck, The Philadelphia School for the tables and chairs. Food for runners and volunteers was donated by Whole Foods, Iovine Brothers , Philadelphia Water Department, Tastebuds, Old City Coffee and Trader Joe's. Prizes were generously donated by Trophy Bikes, Rittenhouse Sports Specialties, World Cafe Live, SWEAT, Walnut Bridge Coffee House ,I Glide Tours and Rentals, and ZBSports. Goody Bag items were donated by Boundless Philadelphia, Philadelphia Weekly, Larabar, Liberty Sports Magazine, Metro-Race Forum. Fairmount Park provided trash cartons and bags and the Special Events office was very helpful in scheduling the race.

We also want to thank all 35 sponsors who made this event possible (See below). Jeff Reinhold of Locust Point and Jerry Sweeny of Brandywine Realty Trust stepped up with very generous donations, as did University of Pennsylvania, 2200 Arch Street Lofts and Edgewater Apartments. We also thank CSX for making a concerted effort to keep trains off the tracks during the event. Bill Goetz of CSX even came out to register to run! Thank you Bill and others at CSX for your consideration!! We really appreciate it!
Lastly, a big thank you to Nancy Mayer who designed the postcard, poster, banner, t-shirt and Philadelphia Weekly ad. Replica Design 'Print" Duplicate on 25 S.18th Street (215-567-7107) did most of our reproduction.
