/ Safety in Park and Crossing Tracks

Safety Is The Number One Issue

Whether crossing the tracks or using the Schuylkill River Park Trail always think about your safety first!

Always Use Caution!

Safety First On the Railroad Tracks

Always Look Both Ways Before Crossing The Tracks

If trains are parked over the crossings, do not crawl under, over or through the trains! Heed the warnings of the "DANGER" signs! It is very dangerous and you could be killed. Secondly, these occurances undermine this Campaign's effort to secure safe crossings. If your access is blocked by parked trains, use one of the other access points at Walnut, Market-Chestnut or West River Drive. Also, send a complaint form to CSX. That's the safest way to send a message to CSX that the Park needs safe and legal grade crossings.

Safety First On the Trail

Use Common Sense, Be Courtious and Be Alert.

Police frequently patrol the Trail. Call 911 if there is any problem.

Remember the Trail is shared by Pedestrians, Runners, Dog Walkers, Bicyclist, Skaters, Skate Boarders and Fishermen.

For "Quality of Life" issues in the Park (Rowdiness, Homeless, Trash, etc.), call Troy Brikel, Community Relations Officer for District 9 of the Philadelphia Police Department, 215 686 3089.
